Clinical Lead for Neuromuscular Clinical Trials
Dr Cairns studied medicine at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Her initial clinical training was in Queensland Australia and Wales UK. Her neurology training was at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney and Great Ormond Children’s Hospital in London.
She has been a consultant at Royal and Mater Children’s Hospitals since 2009 and continued with the move to the Queensland Children’s Hospital when it opened in 2014. She has been the clinical lead for the Neuromuscular Service since 2010 and neuromuscular research since 2017.
